Are you ready to set yourself free? What if this was the very last year you ever made a resolution?

Oh my love

The holidays are almost over and here we are, New Year’s Eve, 2015. How many hopes, prayers and dreams have you put into this day, the day before THE day, the eve of it all changing, because you have your Resolutions and New Year is now upon us?

I don’t know how it makes you feel to read it, but just typing that sentence made me feel heavy and created a little knot in my stomach. I remember all too well the plans I would have for New Year. Looking back I cannot fathom why I would have thought New Year could work when all other attempts that year had failed. And really when you look at it, lasting change really is hard, so it is prudent to try and create the best conditions for change to happen, somehow of all the days in the year, New Year’s Day doesn’t seem to fit that bill.

So 14 years ago, just 3 very long months after I nearly died in my own bed, I decided to do something different for New Year. I ditched making resolutions with my last 3 resolutions ever. Join me in the video to find out what they were, I have a feeling you might like them as well. Of course your main resolutions may be different, what do you want to give up along with resolution making?

Could this be your last year of resolutions and all the hopes, prayers, planning, and subsequent failure, that goes with them? Watch the video and let me know if this could work for you.

Whether our lives are long, or short, all we have is this moment. Just because the calendar clicks over to a new year, doesn’t mean it will be any easier to make change., or to feel at peace in your skin. Those things come from understanding that it is not about a date to make change but a decision to stop doing what you’ve been doing and try something different, after all they say one definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. And if you are hurting, perhaps you lost someone this year, then time, and allowing the grief to be felt, are likely your healers in this moment.

New Year may not be the perfect time for change in the form of resolutions but it does make a great date to set out to do things differently, because you are tired of feeling the same way and getting the same result. Make 2015/2016 the eve that you set yourself free. This is my 14th year and it only gets better and better.

So will you join me and ditch the resolutions making this year the last year that you do? New Year really can be something to enjoy from this decision, I am sitting in silence for two days (I will share more about that in another post) and I do not have a weighty bag of promises to myself looking for me to take action-I cannot tell you how sweet that feels!

Sending you buckets of love and blessings for today and every day. New Year is one day out of 365, let’s not pin all hopes on one donkey :).

I will be back to share more ways to set yourself free in 2016 and beyond, it’s take off those shackles of bondage to time and live more in this moment.

Alone we can do so much, together we can do so much more. Viva the inner revolution in us all.
